Technology Details:
Event-specific PCR- and real-time PCR based technology efficiently detects Bt brinjal Event EE1 approved in the neighbouring country Bangladesh but not yet approved in the country. PCR allows the detection of EE1 event by the amplification of PCR product of 168 bp region of event-specific sequence with limit of detection (LOD) up to 0.01%. Real-time PCR employing TaqMan® chemistry allows detection and quantification of EE1 event with detection/ quantification limit of 0.05%.
